In Glimmerwick, songs are spells. You carry a flute and a songbook, and learning a song means learning a new kind of magic.

What songs can do
From the official store page, song magic can:
- Speak with the trees
- Enchant tools so they work by themselves
- Raise the earth to get past natural obstacles
- Summon clouds to bring rain to your garden
- Open up new corners of the island
The music minigame
- It is not mandatory: you can cast spells without earning any stars, and skip the minigame if you prefer.
- Two star levels per song: learned (easy) and perfected (harder).
- There is an extra help setting for it in the options.
- The clock keeps running while you play the flute, so use the practice rooms in the music classroom.
